Background to Keynote Speaker:
Brendan Hughes is Director of Market Development with Weedle. He has previously worked for some of Ireland’s largest insurance companies where he held responsibilities for developing Internet sales and service strategies.
Brendan worked as e-Commerce Manager with FBD Insurance with responsibility for the development and rollout of their e-commerce platforms, including the No Nonsense Car Insurance and FBD.ie websites. Prior to that, Brendan was e-Business Manager with VHI Healthcare where he managed Ireland’s largest consumer healthcare website.
Brendan was the founding chair of the Irish Internet Association’s Social Media Working Group which examines and promotes the use of blogs, Twitter and other social networks in business. He writes his own blog (http://brendanhughes.ie) where he discusses how Irish businesses are leveraging the latest Internet technologies to support their sales strategies.

In this seminar Brendan will outline the steps that sales managers and directors can take in developing a successful e-business strategy.
He will discuss the opportunities that exist both in the local and international markets for Irish businesses and share insights and learnings from his experiences creating successful online sales strategies in large Irish organisations.
Brendan will offer practical tips on the steps to take and the major components required for businesses to succeed online. In particular he will focus on the challenges faced by traditional organisations in re-aligning their channel strategies to accommodate shifting market dynamics.
