Jim Barry is Managing Director of the Barry Group, one of Ireland’s leading wholesale distribution companies. In business for over 50 years, Barry Group trades prominently on a national basis supplying product to over 700 stores - including 237 affiliated stores in the Republic of Ireland operating under the Costcutter (Grocery Retail), Carry Out (Specialist off-licence), Buy Lo (Irish low-cost superstore) and Quik Pick brands.
The Barry Group was named as a winner of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ companies for 2010 in the annual Deloitte Best Managed Awards Programme which promotes the top 20 performing Irish-owned and managed companies. ‘Achieving Excellence Through People’ is the ethos that lies at the heart of Jim Barry’s stewardship of the Barry Group. His management style and entrepreneurial flair have been widely recognized, and he was shortlisted as a Finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2010.
Before becoming Managing Director in 2002, Jim worked as Head of Operations and Head of Buying & Sales at the Barry Group.
This event runs from 7.30-9.00am and tickets cost €15 for current Sales Institute members to include a full breakfast. The rate for non-members to attend is €80 and should be paid prior to the event.
